I have found that a lot of girls (including myself) are getting caught because someone sees them eating only junk when they do eat. Well I would like to announce the solution. Only let people catch you eating healthy things so that you can say why they are good for you, a perfect explanation of why you are eating it.

Here are the top 15 healthy fruits.

Apples - 1 medium apple (80 calories, 0 g fat): An apple’s 3 g of fiber help you meet your fiber goal of 20 g to 30 g daily. High-fiber diets can lower heart disease risk;

Apricots - 3 apricots (51 calories, 0 g fat):
A good source of beta-carotene (which is converted to vitamin A by the
body), providing the equivalent of 35% of the RDA for vitamin A;

Bananas - 1 medium (105 calories, 0 g fat):
Bananas are a great source of potassium, which plays a key role in
heart health and muscle function. Plus each one has 2 g of fiber;

Blackberries - 1 cup (74 calories, 0 g fat): This fruit boasts a whopping 10 g of fiber in a single cup;

Blueberries - 1 cup (81 calories, 0 g fat): Blueberries help prevent and treat bladder infections by making it hard for bacteria to stick to urinary tract walls;

Cherries - 1 cup (84 calories, 1 g fat):
A good source of perillyl alcohol, which helps prevent cancer in
animals. Heart-protective anthocyanins give cherries their color;

Grapefruits - 1/2 fruit (39 calories, 0 g fat): A good source of vitamin C and a compound called naringenin, which helps suppress tumors in animals;

Kiwi - 1 medium (46 calories, 0 g fat): Just one little fruit packs a mean vitamin-C punch (74 mg) and an impressive 2.8 g fiber;

Mangoes - 1 mango (135 calories, 1 g fat): A single mango has enough beta-carotene to cover your RDA for vitamin A while racking up 57 mg of vitamin C;

Oranges fruits- 1 orange (61 calories, 0 g fat): One orange provides an impressive 50 mg to 70 mg of vitamin C, 40 mcg of folic acid and 52 mg of calcium;

Papayas - 1 cup, cubed (55 calories, 0 g fat): Loaded with vitamin C (86 mg per cup), a healthy dose of fiber (2.5 g) and a sprinkling of beta-carotene and calcium;

Purple grapes - 1 small (113 calories, 9 g fat):Offer three heart-guarding compounds: flavonoids, anthocyanins and resveratrol (green grapes are not rich in them);

Prunes - 1/3 cup, stewed (87 calories, 0 g fat): Prunes’ famed laxative effect is no mystery: There are 5 g of fiber (both soluble and insoluble) in just 1/3 cup;

Raspberries - 1 cup (60 calories, 0 g fat): Teeming with 8 g of fiber per cup, they also boast vitamin C, ellagic acid and anthocyanins;

Strawberries - 1 cup, sliced (50 calories, 0 g fat):
Strawberries have high levels of ellagic acid and anthocyanins, and are
rich in vitamin C (95 mg per cup) and fiber (3.8 g per cup).

Here are 10 foods you should AVOID.

Citrus juices

These acidic drinks can irritate the esophagus, stimulating the
sensory nerves to feel more inflamed. This might feel like acid reflux,
but in reality is just irritation. In the stomach, however, the extra
acid of the drink can cause other problems. If you haven’t eaten, your
gut is already full of acid, so adding the extra can give you a stomach
ache. And if you’re drinking lemonade that’s sweetened with high
fructose corn syrup, watch out: that huge influx of sugar is often a
cause of diarrhea.

Spicy food

Hot peppers give food a wonderful spicy taste, but they can also
irritate the lining of the esophagus on the way down. The result: an
unpleasant heartburn-like feeling after you eat. “Even if you try to
cool down the heat by adding sour cream, you’re still getting all the
spice and the same amount of irritation,” warns Gidus. So rather than
trying to mask spice with high-fat cream, opt for milder versions if
you routinely suffer side effects.

Raw onion

Onions and their cousins like garlic, leeks and shallots are filled
with a variety of phytonutrient compounds—some of which seem to offer
healthy, heart-protective benefits, and some of which cause stomach
distress. Cooking them seems to deactivate some of the problem-causing
compounds. But on the chance that you’re also deactivating some of the
good stuff, dietitian Mary Ryan, suggests using mix of cooked and raw
so that you can reap the benefits without suffering the consequences.

Mashed potatoes

Nothing seems more benign than a bowl of creamy mashed potatoes.
After all, that’s why they rank near the top of the list when it comes
to so-called “comfort foods.” But if you happen to be one of
approximately 30 to 50 million Americans who are lactose intolerant,
you’ll find no comfort in those spuds, since most are loaded with milk
or even heavy cream. Make them at home using lactose-free whole milk
for the same creaminess minus the after-effects.

Ice cream

There’s no quicker way to determine if you’re lactose intolerant
than to sit down with a big bowl of ice cream. The bloating, cramping
and gas are clear messages: your system is trying to tell you to stay
away from such rich dairy products. If that’s the case, the only
solution is switching to lactose-free frozen treats (such as those made
from soy or rice milk). But even if you’re not lactose intolerant, ice
cream can give you some stomach trouble. That’s because it’s
essentially all fat, and fat lingers in the stomach longer than other
foods before getting digested.

Broccoli and raw cabbage

These fiber- and nutrient-rich vegetables are incredibly healthy,
but they are also well-known for causing gas buildup in the gut.
Fortunately, the solution is simple. Cooking them—or even just
blanching them slightly—will deactivate the sulfur compounds that cause
gas.

Beans

The enzyme needed to break down beans is found only in our stomach
bacteria. And if you don’t routinely eat beans, you might not have
enough of this enzyme to comfortably digest them. The result, of
course, is gas and bloating. Cooking beans in soup can help—the extra
fluid will help digest the large amounts of fiber beans contain, and
the extra cooking time will start breaking the beans down even before
you eat them. By adding beans to your diet gradually, you will help
build up the enzyme necessary to digest them without issue.

Sugar-free gum

Sorbitol, the ingredient found in many sugar-free gums, candies and
diet bars and shakes, can cause an uncomfortable buildup of gas in your
gut. Check the labels before you buy to see if you can find sugar-free
products that use less troublesome sugar substitutes. The amount also
is an issue. Most people can handle two or three grams without any
problems, but a product that packs 10 or more grams will undoubtedly be
tough on the digestion.

Fried chicken nuggets

Anytime you take a food, dip it in batter and then deep fry it, you
turn it into something that can be a bit hard on the gut. Fried foods
inevitably are greasy and high in fat, both of which spell trouble for
the stomach. If you already suffer from inflammatory bowel disease,
greasy foods are especially problematic and can cause symptoms like
nausea and diarrhea, says Tara Gidus, a dietitian in Orlando. To make a
healthier version, take frozen chicken nuggets (or use your own
breadcrumb batter on chicken breasts) and bake them rather than frying.

Chocolate

Most of the unfortunate consequences surrounding this rich delicacy
come not from simply eating chocolate, but from overeating it. One
small brownie as an occasional treat probably is fine; a triple brownie
a la mode probably is not. But anyone who suffers from
gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) can experience problems from
even a small portion of chocolate. That’s because chocolate causes the
lower esophageal sphincter to relax, allowing stomach acid to come back
up.

Sorry this is short, but I think its got a lot of info to soak up.

Oh and one last random bit, sleeping will not only help you feel more rested. But you burn more calories when you are sleeping than when you are just sitting down thinking. Also when you are rested your metabolism functions better. So consider getting 8-10 hours of sleep tonight!

Lov you girlies, stay strong!!!
-Alicia Marie

Dieting pills, tips and other facts

Hi everyone.
I am the new moderator. My name is TaylorAnne and I will be helping this site out and post new entires for everyone who visits. Of course, this site hasn't been updated for awhile and I am going to continue updating for quite awhile. This is a good informative site so hopefully this post will help you a lot.

So here is what everyone said and asked about dieting pills and other things I've added.

Comment: I've tried dieting pills in the past. I lost 5 lbs on the first day I started using them. But maybe it was because I was going to the gym. It helped by getting rid of my appetite and it lifted my mood. Even though I lost a little bit of weight, I started getting smaller.

Response: It could be that you were at the gym and that you lost 5 lbs. It could also be that the dieting pills everyone is taking to help loose weight might only be helping you loose weight; then you have to do the rest. It's just like other pills you might take. Ibruprofen, for example. It only helps stop the pain. Your body does most of it.

Comment: I really would like to use NV! Question is, how old do you have to be to buy diet pills?

Response: U.S.A. law says you must be 18 years or older to buy them. Ask someone you know that might be 18 or older and let them buy them for you. Pay them back or if you have no one, skip dieting pills unless you've done research on the effects they have. I wouldn't let anyone use them unless they know what the effects are.

Comment: Do you have any tips to prevent bloating? I drink and lot of water and a diet soda and I feel bloated.

Response: It's the diet soda that is clashing with the water and it makes you feel bloated. It's something in the diet soda that does it. I personally think diet soda is nasty and I don't drink it unless it's Root Beer diet. I think you should just stay with the many glasses of water for now, then drink diet soda seperately.

Comment: I want to purge but my parents are home and they know what I'm doing if the water is running freely. What should I do?

Response: Easy. Purge into the toilet. I don't recommend purging at all but they'll just think you went to the bathroom- just make sure you flush!

Comment: How can taking a shower cause you to loose weight?

Response: It doesn't cause you to loose weight; it burns calories off.

Comment: I've never taken them because I'm too scared. I took some green tea ones though and the helped suppress my hunger pains but they also made me really shaky. (probably because I took more then the recommended dose?)
I have found something that is natural and works for me. Kind of like a supplument to diet pills. Drink a glass of lemon water with cayenne pepper and cinnamon in it every morning. The cayenne pepper suppresses your appitite and speeds up your metabolism as does the lemon water. the cinnamon helps give you energy and the smell makes you think better. it sounds strange but it really works! I found the taste isnt' so bad if you drink it warm and stire the ingrediants really well.

Stacker2 ~ works great for appetite, but will give you the jitters (which I liked). Lost 34lbs in just under 3 months.

Zantrex3 ~ works great for appetite, energy; niacin content gave me hives the first week & crazy flushing about 30 minutes after taking. Lost 30lbs in 1.5 months.

Stacker3 ~ works great for appetite, energy; I had a mild addiction to these and quit taking them when a friend-of-a-friend was found dead in her bath after doubling her Stacker3 dose (she'd been taking 6 instead of 3). She had a heart attack.

HotRox ~ waste of money.

NV/TrimSpa products ~ overall waste of money; I did notice an aversion to food - nothing ever sounded good.

Hoodia ~ great for appetite (using X57 which is only $20 or so), but none of the feel-good ingredients. Lost 18lbs so far (since December).

Metabolife ~ waste.

Xenadrine (ephedra-free) ~ waste; I had heart palpitations.

Metabolift (from TwinLab ~ I don't think they make it anymore) ~ it was the best product EVER. I'd lost 41lbs in 3 1/4 months. I actually couldn't wait to work out when I took this pill. Ephedra works really well IF YOU USE AS DIRECTED.

I've used Dexatrim when strapped for cash (waste), diet teas (a.k.a. diarrhea teas), Kelp/B12 pills (will give you a great case of zits if you're sensitive to iodine...if shrimp makes you break out, don't use these products). I've used apple cider vinegar pills (waste) & grapefruit extract tablets (ditto waste).

Xtralean from holland & barratt - they do work, in the sense that they give u loads of energy but too many can make you jittery.

Everlean from Superdrug - same as above but no jittery feelings.

Zotrim-clinical trials say they work..something to do with satiety,,feel full for longer, less inclined to eat for longer..havent properly used them yet..so dunno.

Adios - most reviews ive read say they dont work but i take them anyway..

pro plus caffeine pills - GREAT for wen u dont have energy or wen u wanna burn come extra cals..

Dieting pills only really make you feel fuller causing you not to eat as much. Therefore, you loose weight easily.

How to keep weight off!

No fast food or chain restaurants. Any restaurant that is a chain or a franchise that sells fast food produces their food in such a way that it will absolutely make you fat. You can actually eat french fries and cheeseburgers and lose weight, provided that the ingredients that you use are all organic and contain no chemical dditives. It is virtually impossible to eat food in a chain or franchise restaurant where the food has not been processed to last for years without spoiling. The food has to be produced as cheaply as possible for the companies to make money. They must add chemicals to make the food taste great and get you physically addicted. This food also has been produced to increase your appetite and make you fatter. Remember, these are businesses whose only objective is to make a profit. If the food tastes amazing, becomes physically addicting, increase your appetite, and makes you fat, the resaurant is assured of success. They are like drug dealers getting their customers hooked ont heir product. The customer can't get enough and becomes so addicted that they keep coming back for more. Thsi is the sad truth of what is happening in our food industry today. (Uhhh, DUH. This is a complete given. Fast food makes you fat. Fast food has incredible marketing schemes to get you hook. The additives in their food are completely unreal. It's nasty, calorie loaded and something we absolutely...at any cost, have to stay away from.)

Eat organic apples all day. The old saying is true -- an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Apples are loaded with fiber and nutrients; they normalize your blood sugar and decrease your appetite. You should eat at least one apple every day. The more the better. (Since apples are negative calorie foods, this makes since. I didn't know they were 'loaded with fiber' but it certaintly can't hurt since fiber helps you lose weight. And we could all use the nutrients!!)

Eat only organic meat, poultry, and fish. One of the reasons you are overweight is because of the growth hormone put in meat and poultry. If you want to lose weight, eat as much meat and pultry as you like as long as it is organic, grass fed, ideally kosher, and most importantly, has not been given growth hormones. The fish you eat should not be farm raised. (This is important. If you pay attention to vegan advertisements you'd understand that mass "meat" farmers do inject their animals with growth hormones to make them grow bigger faster so that they will not have to pay to house the same animal over a long period of time. This does affect you because it makes you store and gain weight. I think the best route is to go vegetarian or vegan because organic meat is very hard to find.)

Limit dairy products. If you are going to consume milk, cheese, butter, or any dairy products, eat only organic products that have not been pasteurized or homogenized. The dairy products should be labeled "organic and raw." It may be hard to find raw dairy products in some parts of the country. The next best option is organic, not homogenized, but that has been pasteurized. Your last option is organic that has been both pasteurized and homogenized. Ideally, if you want to lose weight, reduce dairy regardless of what you are getting. Definitely, absolutely, do not consume any dairy products that are not organic because they will have growth hormone in them and slow your weight loss. (Same concept as above girls!)

Eat a big, huge salad at lunch and dinner. I don't care if your lunch is a cheeseburger, french fries, and a pint of ice cream. Add to it a big, huge salad and eat that first. You'll be amazed how you lose weight. the salad can contain anything you like as long as it is only vegetables, and they are organic. The salad dressing should be organic olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice, or organic vinegar. If you really want to speed the weight loss process, use organic apple cider vinegar. Add some organic sea salt, fresh ground pepper, or some garlic for taste. (Salads are usually negative calorie. This type of salad he's talking about is SUPER negative calorie and consuming it before a meal with help you eat less of the bad stuff!

Breathe. Oxygen burns fat. Most people do not breathe enough to stimulate their metabolism and fat burning capabilities. There are several great videos which teach breathing techniques that are simple and quick to do, and that can help you lose weight faster. (Duh.)

Add muscle. Muscle burns fat. When you add muscle through exercise you are increasing your body's metabolism. The best way to do this is yoga, Pilates, Chinese kung fu, or old fashion basic exercises. (I know a lot of these are just...given points, but sometimes we look over the most valuable tips.)

Fast. This should be number one, but for most people this is the hardest. Going on a proper juice fast for twenty-one days will completely detoxify your body, flush fast cells, and reset your body's weight set point. It is one of the fastest ways to lose weight, and one of the most effective ways to change the body's set point so that you will not gain the weight back.

Hopefully this post helped you a lot.
Comment if you have any ideas for the next post.

Stay Strong<33

101!

Hey Girls,
I am dearly sorry that it has been a while since a good update!
FACT: Inducing diarrhea by laxatives does not significantly change the absorption of food in the body. Consequently, laxatives do not significantly prevent weight gain. What appears to be weight loss is actually dehydration or water deprivation. Laxatives work near the end of the bowel, where they primarily affect absorption of water and electrolytes. They thus work after most of the nutrients from the food have been absorbed into the body.

FACT: "Feeling" constipated does not necessarily mean that you are constipated. This is especially true of people who have problems with eating. Eating too little food or eating sporadically can result in the sensation of constipation.
FACT: There are many different types of laxatives that are taken by mouth or as a suppository.

Bulk agents promote bowel movement. When bulk agents are used as directed (with large amounts of water), they don't have the same physical effects on the bowel as the stimulant and osmotic laxatives. Misusing these agents must be discontinued.

They use laxatives to "feel thin," which is an immediate, positive result. Eventually, however, the exact opposite occurs. They find themselves "feeling fat" from excessive water retention. Here are some steps to stop abusing laxatives:

1. Stop taking laxatives right now, and do not take any more unless your physician instructs you to do so. Remember that stimulant-type laxatives are especially harmful to the body.

2. Drink at least 6 to 10 cups of water (and decaffeinated beverages—not caffeinated beverages because they act like a diuretic, promoting loss of fluid) a day. Restricting your fluid intake at this time promotes dehydration and only worsens the constipation.

3. Including some physical activity in your regular daily pattern can also help to regulate your bowel function, although you should discuss the intensity and type of activity first with your health care provider or therapist. Too much or too vigorous exercise can worsen constipation, due to the effects on your metabolism and fluid balance.

4. Eat regularly. It is important that you spread the amount of food recommended to you on your meal plan across at least 3 meals a day, and to eat these meals at regular intervals.

5. Eat more foods that promote normal bowel movements. The healthiest dietary approach to promoting normal bowel function is to eat more whole-grain breads, cereals, and crackers and wheat bran or foods with wheat bran added. This dietary approach should be done in tandem with drinking more fluids. Vegetables and fruits also contribute to normal bowel function. Prunes and prune juice are not recommended because the ingredient in prunes that promotes bowel movements is actually an irritant laxative, and long-term use of prunes and prune juice can result in the same problem as long-term use of laxatives.

6. Write down the frequency of your bowel movements on a sheet of paper. If you are constipated for more than 3 days, call your physician, dietitian, or psychotherapist.

CHALLENGE INFO!!!

I have decided when and what kind of challenge to do! It will be just a plain weight loss challenge. It will start June 1st, and end June 29th. On the start day you will comment with your current weight. Until the 29th you will give me your new weight EVERY THURSDAY! NOT everyday. The challenge starts on a Thursday and ends on a Thursday. I am also making it into kinda like a contest. The person with the most weight loss will get a 'feature' in one of my post! They will get to write as much as they like about themselves, and I will post it. It will also be a good way to get to know each other. If you want to enter this challenge go to my last post and comment with:
Name:
Xanga:
Age:
A week before the challenge starts we will get more specifics! For right now I am just going to get everything set up.
While you are commenting with your info on the post below. Please take some time and read it! It would be appreciated.

OK I am thinking of making a daily feature!? This feature would include picture(s) of this person, a story about themselfs (anything they would like to write), and there diet and exercise plan. I am not sure if I want to do this. I would like to know!

Comment Questions:
1. Do you use Laxatives? If so, specifically what. (if you want to tell)
2. Do you guys like the challenge? Is it too long?
3. Do yall want a feature? If so daily or weekly?

Know the answers to these questions will help alot! So please put in your opinion.

Why just read...comment too!

002. Pick one food for the day, like an apple. Cut it into 8 slices. Eat 2 slices at breakfast, 2 at lunch, 2 at dinner, and you'll have 2 left for a snack. This way your body thinks it's eating 4 times that day, but in reality you've only had 1 apple. The next day pick another food. Make sure it's only 1 serving that you split up into 3 or more throughout the day.

003. Don’t try to fast for days and days. First of all, fasting for long periods of time actually slows down the metabolism, second, it increases binge cravings immensely, and third, it affects your mood greatly. Instead of being happy for losing weight, you’ll be depressed simply because of lack of food.

004. If you live on your own or have a lot of privacy, tape/tack up pictures of your favorite models and always carry one around with you. When you're hungry pull out the picture. If you live on your own, tape them up on the fridge, freezer, and cupboards (just remember to take them down or cover them when people come over).

005. Always wear perfectly applied sticky lipgloss or chapstick. It keeps you very aware of what goes in your mouth, and makes you think twice about eating anything, because you will have to carefully re-apply.

006. 'Pro Plus' are caffeine tablets which you can just buy from most shops, no need for calorie infested coffee, they are also easy to take if and when you do eat anything.

007. If you're a smoker and you're hungry, light up a cigarette. It curbs your appetite and you no longer feel hungry. If you’re not a smoker, however, I wouldn’t advise you to start simply to lose weight.

008. If you are really craving food, brush your teeth with a strong mint toothpaste. This helps to put you off food because of the taste it leaves behind.

009. When you are hungry, do something gross like dig for worms, clean a kitty litter box, or something. It will make you less likely to eat.

010. In between each mouthful of food that you eat, take a sip of water. It fills you up and slows down your eating so that you stay in control and the meal doesn’t turn into a flat-out binge.

011.

012. When drinking water, drink ICE COLD water... your body has to burn calories to keep your body temperature up.

013. I would not recommend taking laxatives because they are not an effective way of purging, and you actually gain weight by taking them. There are natural laxatives though, found in foods like prunes and grapes. Also, there are certain sugar-free cough drops and candies that produce a laxative effect because of the sugar substitute used in them.

014. Try to eat in the same place every day. Somewhere solitary. Not in front of the TV or computer. If you have to stop what you’re doing to go eat you might not even bother.

015. Eat what you crave. But eat it before you crave it in moderation. For instance, instead of a whole chocolate bar, get one of the small ones and only eat 1/2 of it. Allow yourself to enjoy it. Deprivation leads to bingeing.

016. Sleep at least 6 hours a night. Less than 6 hours sleep a night stimulates appetite by 15%. A lot of people with eating disorders suffer from insomnia, but it really is important to get as much sleep as possible.. Not just for weight loss, but because it helps the body stay healthy even though it is starving.

017. Lower the temperature in your house 10 degrees to burn more calories, or take an icy cold shower/bath. Like drinking the ice water, it causes your body burns calories as it tries to warm you up.

018. Always eat teaspoon size amounts of food at any one time and chew well. You will become fuller with less food so won’t want to finish what's on your plate.

019. If you’re really hungry, buy a bag of low fat low calorie hard candies. When you suck on them a lot your stomach will tell you that you are full.

020. Try drinking more hot beverages, especially in fall and in winter. Hot liquids expand the intestinal tract and make you feel more full. A warm drink can help take the edge off your hunger, preventing overindulging later. In fact, soup can do the same. Bullion cubes are only 5 calories a cube, and they taste wonderful.

021. Focus especially on the first three bites. After that, the excitement of eating will begin to slowly subside, and you'll probably be content with a smaller portion.

022. Spicy foods raise your metabolism and burn slightly more calories than mild foods.

023. If you feel like you want to eat, go to a friend’s house that you cannot just raid the fridge at. Being around other people will make you less likely to eat since most people with eating disorders are embarrassed of being “caught” eating in public.

024. When you go out, take only a few bucks with you so when you walk past the pastry shops you can't afford anything.

025. Before you dig into that carton of ice cream, bag of chips, etc., take a deep breath and count to 100. Usually, by the time you stop counting you will have convinced yourself that you don't really need it.

Buy lunches/dinners of canned/contained foods, like lunch buckets, then without cooking them hide them in your room or locker as if you were eating them, and instead walk/drive them once a week to your local homeless shelter. This also helps those of you, like me, who feel guilty for wasting food.

When you are in school or at work, grab something on your way out the door to eat (because you’re “in a hurry”)-and throw it out. Then when lunchtime comes, go to the library instead of with your friends. Also, get involved in an after-school activity. This way you come home after everyone else has eaten and you can take a plate of food to your room to eat while you are doing your homework (put the food in a bag and throw it out with tomorrow’s breakfast).

And if you exercise to avoid eating, you will automatically get into the “Can’t eat, need to get thin!” mood.

If you feel empty, try this: you can buy bagels that are 98% fat free, split it in half, chew on it for a while. They fill you up, as they appear stodgy. Once you've eaten a mouthful, spit the rest out. They're dry so they encourage you to drink water, which fills you up.

Always keep a trash can near you when you eat so if you feel like you are going to over eat, you can just make it a reflex action to throw the food away. You can't think about it though, because you'll just decide to eat. Even if you've only eaten 2 bites, if you feel that you might be full, just reflexively throw the food away. If you’re at a restaurant, just choose a seat next to the trash. I don't recommend this tip if you're eating with other people, though.

071. If you're annoyed at your family for always trying to make you eat breakfast with them, tell them (while holding your stomach with your arms and looking like you're about to puke) that you always feel sick after you eat in the morning so early. Or that you have to go swimming in a few hours, and that you don't like eating before that.

072.If you do cook food, make sure it's something that takes a long time to cook (like cookies or a pasta or something) and also has a strong aroma, so that way when it's done and you're ready to eat it, you will have gotten filled up just by the smell and waiting and you won't be able to finish it all. It also helps to drink a lot of water while you're waiting, as that fills you up, too.

073. When you are really hungry, take some anti-heartburn pills. Stomach acid is always being made to help digest food and when you don't eat it builds up and you feel hunger. Pills help neutralize the acid and you won't get hunger pangs.

075. Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses a day. This is an obvious one, but there are other reasons to due this, other than weight loss. Drinking water ensures that the kidneys are functioning properly. If you are not fully hydrated this means that the kidneys are not working to their full capacity and results are that the waste products are then dumped onto your liver, which is where the fat process actually occurs. Water actually speeds up your metabolism.

076. Exercise and sweat. When you sweat you burn calories, obviously. Don't overdo it, however, because then you will have a heat stroke. Also if you take a hot bath, you lose water from sweating, but when you drink all the water it comes back again. A good way to do this is if you are going out and you really want fit into that tube top for summer, then just don't drink anything and take a really hot shower and sweat a lot. You will be thirsty but you will have lost a lot of weight for the time being. Remember: body is 98% water.

078. If you have a craving for sugar, try fat-free, sugar free Jell-O... it’s only 10 cals per serving... if you want you can eat the whole bowl and its only 40 cals.

It stops you from eating because you can't get the food down properly and you also look thinner.

If you eat at night before you go to bed, make sure you lay on your left side. It makes the food go through your system faster and won’t have as much time to suck fat out of the food. But remember that you shouldn't eat before you go to bed. It slows down your metabolism.

Praise fat and people will never guess that you're starving yourself into thinness.

If you're in outpatient treatment and have to have your blood tested - a comprehensive metabolic panel - there are a few ways you can fool the test. One, drink water - LOTS. You need to flush the ketones that have built up in your system out of your body or else they'll know you're starving/burning fat. Two, eat some nutritional stuff - yogurt, fruit, cereal - the day beforehand as well as a few hours beforehand, Technically, you're supposed to fast for 12 hours before the test for it to be accurate in measuring your vitamin levels. NOT fasting will up the vitamin levels. Three, make sure you always take vitamins. Finally, you'll want to make sure you get your electrolytes in. Smartwater has 0 calories and lots of electrolytes - perfect for this tip and the first one! So drink up.

Have to go to a restaurant with someone? Some ways you can avoid eating much - 1. veganism (makes it hard to find suitable food); 2. severe food allergies (always a good answer when they offer chocolate!), or 3. order something that you've never tried before. When you taste it, say you don't like it.

Wearing braces could take away your appetite. Depending on what kind of a person you are, either lazy or not. In some cases other people don't bother cleaning their braces because they are sick and tired of doing it. It is also bad to leave chunks of meat and cheetos in-between braces and teeth. Their mentality says " Why bother eating again, I don't want to clean my braces three times a day". This tip is good for people who are "neat freaks" or hygienic. It is also a good advantage ‘cause braces will give good teeth result. Braces may hurt the teeth but it’s another reason not to bother putting food in your mouth

If you're with your family and you're at a buffet, spend most of the time acting like you're picky, and walk around the buffet tables. Then just get a little something and spit it in your cup or napkin. Sneak in some exercise too while you're walking.

Get a piece of ribbon and cut it to the measurement that you want your waist to become after you lose weight. Then you tie this around your wrist like a bracelet. The idea is that each time you see the ribbon you remember your goal, and hopefully it stops you from breaking your targets! And whenever you need a motivation boost, take the ribbon off and see if it fits around your waist.

Try bronzing powder underneath your cheeks and jawbone to make your face appear slimmer.
02. Wear Contour underneath your cheekbones, It'll bring out your cheekbones and make you look thinner
03. Tans also normally makes a person look slimmer (alot of self tanners work great for tans, don't bake in the sun cause you'll look like leather face in the long run. This is what I mean by leather face. Yeah, icky.)
04. Scrub off in the shower, you normally have a pound of dirt/dead skin on you.
05. The use of a lot of eye make up can make your eyes bigger. The bigger your eyes look, the smaller your face will appear to others.
06. You can even make up your legs; yes, really, why not? Put a vertical line of oil on the middle part of your legs, so that it makes your bone shine. You will find that your legs, due to the extra shine, actually appear a bit longer!
07. The more volume you give to your hair, the better it will be for making your face look smaller. Once done, try to remember to play with it from time to time.

clothing:
08. Wear black, black makes everyone look thinner
09. Don't be tempted to go baggy. The look will only add weight to your figure. Balance a full skirt with a fitted shirt. A long flowing top looks best with long lean pants.
10. Pleated pants are an absolute NO-NO. Flat front styles instantly tuck you in. Less fabric means less bulk.
11. Dark stretch jeans are comfortable and forgiving. Make sure you're wearing your correct size by checking the side seams. They should run in a straight line. A curving, crooked seam indicates that you need a different size or style.
12. Wear control top pantyhose even under pants and for the summer (when wearing pants) cut the legs off of them so it won't be so hot
13. Wear a cincher (I think that's what there called, they look like a tube top but tighter and you where it around your stomach and/or rear)
14. Wear platfarms/heels, taller you are the thinner you'll look
15. Braclets can sometimes make your wrist look thinner also chokers can sometimes make your neck look thinner too
16. Wear wide leg pants. While at first it would seem that wide leg pants would make you look bigger than you are, in fact, the wide leg style in most cases creates a nice straight line, creating the illusion of longer legs. This, in turn, makes you look taller and is very forgiving. If you'd like something a little more interesting than traditional wide leg pants, look for cuffed leg. Style Note: Try to avoid cuffed pants if you are under 5'5. Cuffed pants tend to make short legs look shorter.
17. Wear bootcut/slight flare jeans. Jeans are an everyday item, and because they're worn so often, they should be the items that we put the most effort into buying. Bootcut jeans, and jeans with a slight flare, are going to be flattering on every body type. Again, we're going for long clean lines, and creating a soft silhouette, which really adds up to a pretty, slimming look.
18. Don't get caught up on size. A huge and very common mistake when shopping is that we get too caught up on the number on the tag, and not the fit. Sizing runs different in all stores, so make sure you try on a variety of sizes to get the best fit. Wearing something that's too small for you can make you look a lot bigger than your actually are, so make sure you find the right fit.
19. The longer the better. One of my personal pet peeves when it comes to dressing is pants that are too short. There are certain lengths for capris and flood pants, but the worst thing for your figure is pants that are too short, and cut off the leg. You want to make sure that your pants are long enough to cover most of your shoe. The longer, the better. See the reoccurring theme here? Long lines create long legs which creates a slimmer look!
20. Don't be clingy. When shopping for pants, try and look for pants made of heavier fabrics so they don't cling to your leg. There's nothing worse than fabrics clinging to your body, showcasing all of your flaws. Look for fabrics that are flowy and light, which tend to pull away from the body.
21. Focus on your assets. Every single one of us have wonderful assets that we want to play up. If you have gorgeous legs, go for a nice full knee length skirt or shorts. If you've got great arms, go for sleeveless tops. Got a great waist? Play it up with a blazer that cinches at the waist, or add a belt to pull it in.
22. Back pockets. This is also something else that is an afterthought for most of us. Pocket size on jeans can really make or break the jeans. Pockets can either make your bum look bigger or can really flatter it. When shopping, look for jeans that have decent size pockets, relative to size of the seat. Steer very clear of too tiny pockets that can make your bottom look huge. Instead look for fun cargo flap pockets or bigger pockets that are situated lower on the jeans to make your bottom look higher. Try on as many styles and washes as possible to ensure you get the best look.
23. A-Line isn't for All of us. A-line dresses and skirts were always known as the best skirts out there, that flattered everyone. Well, that's not always true. A-line dresses can create a tent effect and give you a shapeless look and add pounds within minutes. Always try on a dress before buying, and find out if A-line works for you. Style Note: Empire waist tops and dresses can create the same effect, so watch out for babydoll style tops.
24. Don’t use clothes that are too colourful, as that will only attract more eyes on the areas that you really would like to hide.
25. Loosen the pockets, and avoid filling them up. Full pockets add bulk, not the visual effect you are looking for when you are trying to look thinner.

Take those ace bandage like things and wrap it around your stamich (but not so tight it hurts, also don't wear pantyhose or cincher over it I learned it hurts bad)
27. Stand/sit straight it can make you look 10 pounds less
28. watch the salt, it can make you contain water which will make you look a few pounds heavier
29. Always be aware of the position of your body and your posture. A correct position can make you appear up to three centimetres taller than you are.

Once people realize what you're doing, you'll be watched and monitored and suspected. Start hiding your habits and practices before anyone even sees them. It's much easier to keep people clueless than it is to fool people who know something's going on.
* Don't bring up the subject of food around other people. Have your excuses for not eating ready in case they should bring the subject up. Some excuses I use : "My stomach's a little upset", "I'm too (tired, excited, nervous, busy, etc) to eat", "I don't feel like (whatever food it is), I'll get something later", "I did eat, didn't you see?", and "I stopped by (Arby's, Burger King, Subway, etc) earlier".
* Don't get angry. Don't deny everything if confronted. People will believe a little truth with a big lie much easier than a huge lie. Act as if it's no big deal instead of reacting emotionally and people will tend to believe you.
* Don't show off your weight loss until you've reached the weight you want to remain at. People will start to watch you more carefully and maybe ask questions, and you want to avoid calling attention to yourself.
* Don't let ANYONE around you know about your ana. It's great to have online friends - in fact, I would encourage it - but unless you're 100% positive that one of your friends will understand or help, DON'T TELL THEM. There is too large a risk of being discovered.
* If you live with your parents and they got suspisious say it's cause you've been eating a lot at school from borrowing your friends money. Say you ate a huge sandwhich, 2 chocolate bars, and chips. Or tell them that recently you've haven't been as hungry. If you've lost a lot of weight and they wonder if its cause your not eating tell them your metabolism is fast and you run daily at school.
* Don't say anything that may raise suspicion, this means, don't comment constantly on other peoples weight, on your weight, on how many pounds you have lost, etc, etc
* Hide your journal if you write about your ed in it
* Keep all your diet pills and other diet stuff like that very well hidden. You could carry them with you in your handbag or keep them in a place where no one will snoop around.
* Don't ask if this or that makes you look "too fat".
* NEVER watch shows about ED's in front of others, or let them watch, they will find some sort of connection to you.
* Don't say anything about your weight.
* Keep any pro-ed site well hidden.
* Always erase your History on the internet
* the computer has cookies to every site you've been to, so if you have a clever, computer savvy family, they can find the folder. These files are in the Temporary Internet Files Folder.
* On occaision, don't become obsessive, comment on how actresses and models need to eat more, and that stick thin isn't healty.
* go to the kitchen often, and pretend your snacking, take a long time, look in the fridge, ETC! they will think you're always in the kitchen eating, and won't suspect anything.
* Wear make-up to hide the paleness (unless your gothic and doing the pale face thing and then your parents will think it's just a "phase" you'll grow out)
* Take vitamins so you won't develop physical attributes to malnutrition, people will be able to tell.
* Trash. Watch where you dispose of uneaten food or other "evidence", make sure that it isn't going to be seen or found by anyone. Wrap food up and throw it away outside the house. If you live alone, always take the trash out before anyone else comes over.
* Try to avoid situations where it will look weird if you don't eat.
* Remember any excuse you have given.
* You will eat more on a darker plate than a lighter plate. Also, use smaller utensils AND plates in order to decrease food intake.
* Take a long time to eat. If you're right-handed, try eating with your left, or vice-versa. Use children's utensils so you need to take more bites. Remember, it takes your stomach 20-30 mins to know it's full, so don't stuff yourself because you think you're still hungry!
* When you have to eat, eat in front of the person most suspicious of you.
* Chew something and spit it out into a paper towel. You get the taste, but not the cals.
* Opaque-cup trick! This is really popular. Take a bit, chew it, then pretend to take a sip and spit out the food. Make sure that no one else can see into your cup, tho - trying explaining that one could get you into a mess.
* You will eat more on a darker plate than a lighter plate.
